Excavations at Vinča were continued in 1972 thanks to the Committee for Archeological Investigation of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and are still continuing today. The overall result of the century-old investigation of this Culture have placed it at the very top of the world cultural heritage.
Viminacium The Roman camp (castrum) in Viminacium was built in the early decades of the 1st century A.D. The construction of the earliest stone fortifications, around the middle or in the second half of the 1st century A.D., is associated with the VII legio Claudia, which was stationed here throughout the classical period. It is the capital of the province of Upper Moesia.
